Posted by Grassmonkey on 27 March 2015 - 01:03 PM

Sort of new to the coalition...I am the member formerly known as Chieffrozenhoof. I have been out of the net so to speak for a few years and have now returned to the coalition as grassmonkey, the name of my lawncare company. Lots of oldtimers on here that I remember. You guys are great and I'm glad to be back on the coalition board. My computer crashed a couple of years ago and I lost the passwords and stuff with it. I'm one of those guys that learn the hard way haha. GO Chiefs!!

#97436 Proud Dad Moment

Posted by azchief21 on 24 July 2017 - 11:28 PM

Forgive me as I brag for a moment. Seems appropriate at the time. When my son was graduating high school, we talked about whether or not he wanted/needed to go to college. He said he didn't think so. Didn't want to waste my money or his time. We left the option open, still is. He learned a trade, worked his ass off in the AZ sun, moved his way up to supervisor and just recently bought his first house. He has no student loan debt, no credit card debt, new truck and a great credit rating. After he moved out years ago, he never asked us to borrow a dime. I applaud kids that work hard in college and get a degree they can use. I told my kids, do what you want if it requires a degree get one, if not don't waste your time. I think a lot of us Dads want their kids to do better than we did. My Dad, a career soldier, always told me "Use you brain, not your back" Well I used my back for years and I finally got to where I feel comfortable and love what I'm doing. I said the same to my son and he ended up following my path. It's almost like a lot of kids these days look down on those who choose to work with their hands. All we wanted  was healthy, happy, successful kids and he's both. And it looks like our daughter is on her way although she's much more dramatic. And besides, I don't think he would have done well with whiny, liberal college professors. Oh and he's a diehard Chiefs fan!!

#96184 Here is what nationalized healthcare gets you

Posted by ATLchief on 10 July 2017 - 02:14 AM

Not m magically. I have paid into Medicare every time I received a paycheck. Over 50 years.

As have I, albeit for not quite as long.

The problem is, the government took all of that money that you and I paid into Medicare, and spent it on other shit.

Stupid shit.

If you handed over such a significant portion of your earnings to a private financial planner/investment adviser to insure you weren't eating Alpo in your golden years, and he squandered it away on something that was of no benifit to you, I'm assuming you would be pissed off, right?

Then why, for god's sake, do you give the idiots in Washington a free pass, and actually want them to control even more of your life?

#83282 Thank you

Posted by wilkie on 19 February 2017 - 02:36 AM

She is going to the KU game next Saturday.   She has rallied more than I could have imagined.   Although it seems like after an emergency like last week there would be a general decline,  she is determined to have the best quality of life she can.   I don't know if had gone through all the trials and turmoil she has undergone,  if I would have the same optimistic outlook on life.

Again thanks for the well wishes.  I didn't expect to post about this at all but once in awhile real life invades my antiquated political leanings.

#8017 Great Days to be a KC Fan

Posted by Chiefsfan1963 on 26 September 2014 - 09:40 PM

On Monday the Chiefs are hosting the Patriots on Monday Night Football and have great chance to beat Brady in co on national television. On Tuesday the Royals have a great chance to host the American League Wild Card game and actually beat Oakland in their first post season game in 28 years. I am really stoked and wished I was in KC.

#70067 Chiefs vs Broncos - Game Thread

Posted by AlwaysChiefs on 28 November 2016 - 04:13 PM

I never read the game thread until the game is over, because I refuse to allow the whiners and gripers here to ruin the game for me. This thread really is the worst example that I have read on this board in all the years I have been here (and that's a lot!). I guess I'm going to have to add another couple of guys to my ignore list. You guys are so consumed by your storyline (Alex is terrible, Andy Reid is a terrible play caller, Gaines can't cover, blah, blah, blah) that you just spew the negativity, and ignore all the positives of being a Chiefs fan. Our team had multiple key players injured going into this game, on the road, against a healthy world champion team. So what did our team do? Kept it close all game. Trailing by 8 points with seconds left in the game, we score a touchdown. Then have to convert the 2 points to tie. The Donks kick a field goal in OT, and we have to score on our next possession or we lose. We kick the game-saving FG. The defense holds the Donks to the point that they have to try a 60 plus yard FG to win.  They miss it and we drive the ball all the way down to a chip shot FG to win the game. Doink! It's a great game - a game for the ages! And you guys spent three + hours whining and griping about all things Chiefs. Just shut up until you have something positive to say. You know who you are!

#46046 My Book was finally Published

Posted by DieHard on 15 January 2016 - 04:51 PM

I know I don't post in here much because I don't like politics or politicians, but I didn't know where else to put this.  I just got my first book published.  It is a thriller/suspense novel sort of like a Dean Koontz/Ray Bradbury.  The hero is a vet like some of us.

Half of what it makes (if anything) will go to help wounded vets, but I can't say the name of the foundation I am donating it to.  Sorry for the off topic post.

I couldn't respond right away because I was out in the street dancing with several hundred thousand Chief Fans......We may not know "how to react" but we know how to dance.

Peyton is a great man, wonderful human being.  I respect him immensely for his total body of work on the field and off the field.

That said, the CHIEFS are in a much stronger position now that Peyton has lost an edge.

Very simple for Chiefs fans....respect the man, fuck the broncos.
