I did lots of research over this last year and four or five C&C guns kept popping up on the videos and recommendations, but the M&P Shield was a favorite on at least three that I looked at ..... so at Christmas time, i went to Cabelas (had lots of reward points) and touched about every one in the store .... ended up liking how the S&W felt and got it in the 9mm, no thumb safety version .... shot a hundred rounds down at the in-laws on Christmas day and it was delightful ....

A Shield 9 is what I carry the majority of the time. I also carry an M85 .38 sometimes.

Just ordered a CZ75D P-01, chambered in 9mm. It will be my new EDC. I have been looking for one for awhile. CZ can't keep up with demand. 14 round doublestack mag, aluminum frame, de cocker. I am stoked! Will post pics when I receive it.

100 rounds through it yesterday. It's a shooter. Have some VZ grips on order. The stock ones are a little wide.

VZ grips installed.  A definite improvement.  Pancake holster on order from www.stitchdex.com and then I am good to go for CCW.

I hate the Phillips grip screws. They will get replaced.

They are G10 grips. Similiar to carbon fiber. Damn near indestructible.

I like Hogue also. They don't make anything for this model that really appealed to me.

Thru June 30, S&W has a $75 factory rebate on all new Shields.  I'm contemplating getting one in .45 to go with my 9mm.

I like 45's..kinda almost wish I still had my 1911. I'm partial to large pieces of lead and their stopping power

Today, I went to the range instead of church.  Does that make guns my religion?

My son bought me one of the new Ruger Mark IVs for my birthday today. I was shocked. Good kid. I had been wanting one. They have been redesigned with a one button takedown. Easy to clean. I have always liked the IIs and IIIs, but they say you need an engineering degree to field strip one and a doctorate to get it reassembled. i guess they better run good dirty.

Hey OT. My son has become a .45 nut. In the last year he has bought a Sig P220 and a CZ97B. That 97 is a tank. Awesome gun. Finding one was like hunting a unicorn. They don't hit the market very often.
